About

We are two analysts based out of Asia. This blog is an attempt to pencil our thoughts on financial markets. We will post anonymously and our pseudonyms will be KNK and DSK.

KNK
I will focus specifically on Asia, in particular on China and India. The two countries, home to what are probably the world's most ancient civilizations, will most likely determine the battle between democracy and communist dictatorship in the twenty first century. I use the word 'dictatorship' without the negative connotations it carries in the western press - a dictatorship can be benevolent and meritocratic, as China most certainly seems to suggest over the last 30 years. Democracy on the other hand, can be painfully inefficient as India has shown in its own chequered history.

My posts may deal with macroeconomics or with individual companies. My only purpose is to present something interesting that may possibly, but not necessarily, lead to a trade idea. The end goal for me is to learn and I hope I contribute to the learning experience of my visitors.

DSK
I will focus on interest rates and will try to distill my thoughts into actionable trade ideas. I will provide stops and targets on most of my trades and will also consider liquidity in the underlying product. Geographically, most of the ideas will be on US rates or Asian rates. I believe that interest rates are one of the key levers for any economy. Every other asset class (Credit, Equity etc.) is influenced by them. A firm view on rates helps in trading not only rates products but also other asset classes.

I prefer to form a view based on macroeconomic analysis, but determine my entry and exit points on technicals.
